Hi, I’m Steve!
I thought you might be interested to know a little about ME before you decide to sign up for any training… so here it goes!
When I was young I had very little interest in sports or fitness. I’d have much rather sat reading a book than doing any kind of sports or exercise.
When I hit my late teens alcohol became my new best friend, and exercise and good nutrition were a distant dream still!
If you were the same way when you were younger, then never fear! You are not the only one!
I discovered Muay Thai (training out of Mungkorn Dam for about 3 years) at the age of 19 and found myself challenging myself physically, really for the first time outside of school P.E lessons. This is what led me on to improve my fitness, flexibility, strength, balance and more.
I went on to train in Ninjutsu and Tai Chi over the following few years, and now train in Jujitsu – my deep interest in the fighting styles of the world, and the more personal necessity of people being able to defend themselves in the real world, led me to gain a Self Defence Instructors Qualification in 2016.
I went on from Muay Thai to learn about other exercises to improve my strength and endurance, and this personal interest eventually blossomed into a bigger idea: that my love of fitness could actually be my job!
Once you get the bug, it never leaves, and you will find that, like me, you will enjoy an easier and better quality of life if you focus on the one thing that is really important… YOUR health.
I became a fully qualified personal trainer in November 2011 and since then I have set about making the world a happier, healthier place.
I love being able to encourage people to improve their lives, and my fun, friendly approach to training will hopefully make you forget that, sometimes, it can be hard work too!
I am a firm believer that working out should always be fun, and that principle is what led me to develop Rockcercise® from 2011 onwards. My big dream is to take over the world with Rockcercise…but we shall see!
Anyway, that’s enough about me.

I have also trained in martial arts for over twelve years (currently Jujitsu), and now hold a self defence instructor qualification, which enables me to run self defence courses and classes under Real-Defence UK (the self defence portion of SMSFitness, Southend)

I am based at my Private Studio in Southend. I also offer mobile coaching and can travel to you in the following areas: Southend on Sea, Leigh on Sea, Rayleigh, Westcliff, Benfleet Eastwood and Shoeburyness.
